What do you have Gas or Diesel. With the high prices of diesel this summer I was scarred off from buying a diesel truck, but now the prices have fallen and I may decide to do it. What I have seen is that the Dodge Cummins is probably the top truck in terms of fuel efficiency..I was driving an 06 6speed that was getting up to 21 mpg on interstate.. Anyone out their can comment on the powerstroke or duramax would be great.
thanks

My Duramax get pretty good mileage, and can pull a trailer like its not there. I dont know if I would get another one, unless it was good deal. I had some gelling issues last winter, and diesel is around .90 cents a gallon more right now. So I think the diesels mileage and price would even out with a gas trucks mileage and gas prices. Plus they warm up faster in the winter, and no gelling problems. I wouldnt tell you to not get one, but its something to think about. If your pulling a trailer all the time than it would be a no brainer to get one, but a gas truck does just fine most of the time.
Mine is paid off and only has 110K on it, so I have quite a few more years in it before I start looking again.

how would you rank the diesel in terms of power, seems like its dodge, chevy, ford in my book for power. As far as room, I would have to say the f250 has got the most room of all, as for mileage, i would say dodge again.

It just depends on what you want, I havent looked at anything else for trucks. Mine has been great for me and plan on keeping it for as long as I can.
I do know that my buddy's brother hauls trailers across the country for a living, and he said that almost everbody doing it for a career has switched over to the duramaxes for reliability and power. He has an 03 like mine and hes over 400,000 miles on it with no issues, other than a couple sets of injectors. But Gm has been covering his under warranty.

that surprises me, i would have thought it would have been a dodge or ford, never would have guessed a duramax.
