Keep in mind that they also make a 500 Renegade. .. which is still pretty quick. . . but a bit lighter and more nimble.

I haven't had a chance to ride one of these machines yet. . . but would love to be able to compare.

If you are just looking to be able to pull a trailer/attachments. .. Renegade or Wolverine would be fine. . . but if you think you are going to do anything more utility with it, you may want a machine with Racks. .. I've heard good things about the handling of the Honda Rancher 420. . . supposedly a pretty fun little quad and it still has gears (important to some. . . including ME). Would be best if you could actually test drive some of these. ..

my dad has the rancher 450. when i ride with my buddies they leave me in the dust, but when it comes to mud they are screwed

Do you mean the Rancher 420?

Past Ranchers have been 350's and slightly more recently 400's. .. the reincarnation is a 420 which is supposedly pretty peppy. . . and much quicker than the foreman 500. .. from what I hear.

Honda used to make a Foreman 450 (now a 500). .. not sure which machine you rode.

I think it was the 400, to use to just red. Its pretty nice, got ESP and manual override, 4 wheel drive. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the pulling power. The arctic cat ate it up

Compared to the 400, the 420 should be a completely different animal. . .

Your probably right... I have seen several clips on the 420 on the internet. It looks peppy.
